Pharrell Williams is one of the most talented artists in hip hop: that you might already know. And as you might also know, he has two successful luxury clothing lines that are HOT amongst streetwear lovers: Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream.
To discourage counterfeiting, Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream merchandise are only sold via the official brand website or their stores… that is until now. Monday, August 24th 2009 at 12pm EST, both cult brands will debut on Gilt.com, a members-only, luxury brands sample sale website.
Both brands are the result of a collaboration between Pharrell Williams and Nigo, the founder of A Bathing Ape or Bape luxury sportswear line. Williams has called Nigo the “Spielberg of fashion” and says of the lines “It’s basically everything I ever wanted as a kid but couldn’t afford,” says Williams. “And if I could have afforded it, no one was making it.”
Billionaire Boys Club, known for its unique graphics, vibrant colors and a blend of classic design and vintage style, will offer a limited number of items for sale on Gilt.
Pharrell’s other brand, Ice Cream will feature t-shirts and sweatshirts, polos, knits, denim, suits and shirts, and accessories such as hats, sneakers, etc.
Regular retail prices are $80 for tshirts, $130 for polos, $220 for sweatshirts and up to $935 for jackets. How much will they be discounted at Gilt? Sales can be up to 70% off retail, but you’ll have to come to Gilt.com on Monday to find out how steep the savings will be.
